2008 Part 4: The Florida Primary

Here are the results of today's primary in Florida:

Republican Primary:

  1. John McCain - 36%
  2. Mitt Romney - 31%
  3. Rudy Giuliani - 15%
  4. Mike Huckabee - 14%
  5. Ron Paul - 3%

Interesting that McCain and Romney are still so close.

Democratic Primary:

  1. Hillary Clinton - 50%
  2. Barack Obama - 33%
  3. John Edwards - 14%

These results are all that surprising to me to be perfectly honest except for the fact that Obama came out so far ahead of Edwards. It just seems interesting that in Florida so many people would have voted for him.

  1. The Democratic results don't count because FL was stripped of their delegates. Obama didn't campaign there that I know of.

  2. Yeah, personally, I don't take too much stock in anything Florida does politically anyway.

Just remember this is the same state that screwed up the first election of George W. Bush and that they elected his brother governor.

The fact that McCain did so well in this state actually surprises me quite a bit.
