The Detroit Red Wings came from behind today to beat the Chicago Blackhawks 6-4 at the 2009 Winter Classic.
For those not necessarily familiar with hockey, the Winter Classic is a fairly new tradition. It is a game played during the regular NHL season, always played on New Year's Day and always played outdoors, as opposed to inside an arena.
Today's game was played at Wrigley Field in Chicago.
At the end of the first period, the Wings were down 3-1 but came back strong in the 2nd period scoring 3 goals to Chicago's 0 and ended the game in the
3rd period scoring 2 more goals at kept the Blackhawks to just 1 goal.
