Tancredo joining Constitution Party?

What Is The American Constitution Party, Tom Tancredo's New Home? : NPR

According to the article, Former GOP Congressman Tom Tancredo is leaving his party to run for governor of Colorado as a member of the Constitution Party.

Here are some party platform highlights of the Constitution Party as presented in the article:

- allow state legislatures, not voters, to pick U.S. Senators (basically they want to abolish the 17th Amendment)

- abolish congressional pensions

- abolish the Department of Education, the Department of Energy, the Food and Drug Administration, the Internal Revenue Service and the Federal Election Commission

- end foreign aid and participation in groups such as the United Nations

  1. They want to get rid of the Food and Drug Administration? That sounds like a really bad idea to me.

  2. Well, keep in mind that they want the government restricted to only performing duties expressed in the Constitution and nowhere in there does it say anything about a Food and Drug Administration.
