Happy 64th Sly!
Rocky IV (1985)
This 4th installment of the Rocky franchise was written and directed by Stallone himself. It is my favorite out of all of them.
In fact, out of all of the Rocky movies, this one is the highest grossing one.
This film was the 2nd one for both Dolph Lundgren (after A View to a Kill) and Brigitte Nelson (after Red Sonja).
It was the last film in the franchise to feature the character Apollo Creed, played by Carl Weathers.
Demolition Man (1993)
In this futuristic action movie, Stallone plays John Spartan, who is wrongly accused of a crime and sentence to "cryo-prison" where he is put into hibernation for 36 years.
This film also features Sandra Bullock, Wesley Snipes, and Denis Leary.
Judge Dredd (1995)
This film is based on a comic book series and takes place in the 22nd century.
Stallone plays the title character and, in my opinion, actually does a pretty decent job of the Judge Dredd character that I have always envisioned.
It also stars Armand Assante, Rob Schneider, and Max Von Sydow, among others.
It is not do so well, critically or financially, which does not come as a big surprise to me to be honest. As much as I did like the film, it was probably not the best film for those that were not fans of the comic book.
I would actually like to see Hollywood try another hand at this particular comic book character.
