Top 5 Bands from New Jersey

This is a list thatDave from Oklahoma Lefty suggested I do.

It is a list of who I think are the 5 Best Bands/Artists to come from New Jersey. So here they are in descending order of importance....that is, the best one is saved for the last......

5..........Blues Traveler

This rock band was put together in 1987 in Princeton, New Jersey. They are a rock band that is heavily influenced by blues, folk, soul and southern rock.

My favorite songs of theirs are "Run Around" and "Hook" both from the 1994 album Four.

4..........Bon Jovi

Yeah, so what? I like Bon Jovi. Sue me. They put out some good music, lemme alone!
Anyway, this rock band was formed in Sayreville, New Jersey in 1983.

3..........The Misfits

This horror punk band was formed in 1977 in Lodi, New Jersey by Glenn Danzig.
They have gone through several lineup changes since their inception. They disbanded in 1983 but re-united in 1995 without Danzig.

2..........Gaslight Anthem

This rock band was formed in New Brunswick, New Jersey in 2005, making it the newest band on this list.
Their music has elements of punk, soul, and rock. As I have stated about this band before, they kind of remind me of a mixture between Bruce Springsteen, Social Distortion and Paul Westerberg.

They have released 1 live album, Live at Park Avenue in 2009.

They also recently released an iTunes Session live EP on November 18.

1...........Bruce Springsteen

Hell, where to begin!!! The Boss!
He was born in September 1949 in Long Branch, New Jersey and began his professional singing career in 1965 with a band called The Castiles.
He has also played for bands such as Earth, Steel Mill, Dr Zoom and the Sonic Boom, and Sundance Blues Band before starting the Bruce Springsteen Band (and the E Street Band).
