Favorite Heroes and Villains

This is an update to something I posted in May 2010, Top 3 Comic Book Characters Part Two.

This post was not titled correctly in the first place but on top of that my feelings have changed since then. In that post I listed my favorite comic book heroes and comic book villains. This is an update to that list (not in any particular order):

Heroes
Batman
Superman
Flash
Captain Marvel
Punisher

Villains
Joker
Doctor Doom
Lex Luthor
Magneto
Two-Face

DC Comics Poll: Which new titles will you purchase?

In case you live under a rock, you know that at the end of the summer, DC Comics will be re-booting its entire comic book line.

Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Teen Titans, Justice League, Aquaman, and a slew of 2nd and 3rd tier titles will be completely re-vamped, aka they are starting all of its characters from scratch.

Here is a link to a survey I found on the Comic Book Resources website:

Happy Birthday George!

Happy 57th Birthday George!!!

For those of you that don't know who I am talking about, I am talking about George Perez, one of the best known comic book artists of all time. He was born in Puerto Rico and grew up in Queens, New York.

He is most well known for being the artist for the DC crossover event of the century Crisis on Infinite Earths but that is not the only comic he has lent his pen to.

What comics has he drawn for? The easier question would be what comics has he not drawn but here is a quick list of some of the comics that he has graced his presence with:

Action Comics, Batman, Flash, Infinite Crisis, Justice League of America, Avengers, Fantastic Four, Incredible Hulk, Infinity Gauntlet, Green Lantern, Superman, Avengers, Captain America, Iron Man, X-Men............

So, again, happy birth George, here's to many more years of drawing our favorites!

The Best of Michael J. Fox

Happy 50th Birthday Michael! Can't believe he is that old already!

Here is a list of what I think are his best films:
  1. Back to The Future (1985)
  2. Teen Wolf (1985)
  3. Light of Day (1987)
  4. The Secret of My Success (1987)
  5. Casualties of War (1989)
  6. Back to the Future 2 (1989)
  7. Back to the Future 3 (1990)
  8. Doc Hollywood (1991)
  9. The American President (1995)
  10. Mars Attacks! (1996)
If I had to choose an absolute favorite of these films, I would definitely have to go with the one that launched him in super stardom.........Back to the Future!!

Currently Reading: Batman: The Long Halloween

TITLE: Batman: The Long Halloween
AUTHOR: Jeph Loeb (writer); Tim Sale (artist)
YEAR PUBLISHED: 1998
PUBLISHER: DC Comics

I have read this Batman story more than once but I was at the library the other day and saw it on the shelf and decided I wanted to read it again.

This is actually one of my favorite Batman stories. It is written by Jeph Loeb, who is one of my favorite comic books writers (along with Geoff Johns, Chuck Dixon, Garth Ennish, and Peter David). The artwork in it is decent. Not amazing. Not great. But decent.

But it's the story itself that makes me read it over and over. I love the story. Jeph Loeb has written other Batman stories (most notably Dark Victory) but this one is definitely one of his best works in my opinion.

If you are a Batman fan, or a comics fan, or a Jeph Loeb fan, or just a fan of reading, check this one out.
