Top 4 Films of Bill Murray

Happy 62nd Birthday Bill!

Narrowing down this list was pretty difficult but here it is. The Top 4 Bill Murray films, listed in chronological order, by year of release:

Caddyshack (1980)
This Harold Ramis directed film also stars Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield, Ted Knight and Brian Doyle-Murray. In this golf comedy, Bill plays Carl, the assistant greens keeper that spends the film chasing after a clever gopher.

Stripes (1981)
Directed by Ivan Reitman, this comedy also starred Harold Ramis, John Candy, John Larroquette, Judge Reinhold, and was an early appearance of Bill Paxton. This is probably my favorite Bill Murray film.

Another Ivan Reitman directed film, Bill stars as Dr. Peter Venkman along with Dan Akroyd, Harold Ramis, Sigourney Weaver, Ernie Hudson, Rick Moranis, and Annie Potts. This one is not too far behind Stripes as my favorite Bill Murray film.

Groundhog Day
Another film directed by his often co-star Harold Ramis, Murray plays weatherman Phil Connors that is forced to repeat a day of his life over and over again. This film also stars Andie MacDowell, Chris Elliott, Brian Doyle-Murray, and director Harold Ramis.

Honorable Mentions:

What About Bob?
Space Jam
The Man Who Knew Too Little
Osmosis Jones

Dude! No "Rushmore" or "The Life Aquatic"?

  2. I've never seen the Life Aquatic and Rushmore was good. Just not good enough to make this list.
