Smoke Or Fire: Discography of the Moment

Smoke or Fire is a punk band that formed in 1998 in Boston, Massachusetts. Originally calling themselves Jericho, and then Jericho RVA, they changed their name to Smoke or Fire around 2004 after complaints from various Christian groups due to the religious nature of their name. Currently, they are based out of Richmond, Virginia.

Last night, I went to see Teenage Bottlerocket at The Conservatory and Smoke or Fire was one of the opening bands. Having been together since 1998, I find it hard to believe that I had never heard of this band before last night. Dave and I almost did not even stay inside the venue to watch these guys, having decided to stay outside during the opening bands so that we didn't go deaf before TBR took the stage. I am glad we decided to stay once these guys took the stage because they were amazing. Their entire set was great. Good song after good song after good song. Great music. Really nice bunch of guys too. We got to meet and talk with them a bit after the show was over. We both bought one of their CDs from the merch table after their set was over. I am looking forward to hearing more of their music and seeing them perform live again. Definitely a band worth checking out if you are at all into bands like The Roustabouts, Hot Water Music, Avail, Dillinger Four, Against Me, Dead To Me, or the Loved Ones.

On All Music, they list their influences as Avail,Hot Water Music, The Replacements and Bruce Springsteen.
