Top 4 Films of Chevy Chase

Happy 69th Birthday Chevy!!

Here are my Top 4 Chevy Chase films in chronological order, by year of release:

Caddyshack (1980)

Harold Ramis directed this golf comedy which also starred Rodney Dangerfield, Ted Knight, Bill Murray, and Brian Doyle-Murray. In this one, Chase plays millionaire Ty Webb.

National Lampoons Vacation (1983)

In another Harold Ramis-directed comedy, Chase plays family patriarch Clark Griswold in a film about a family's quest for fun that takes them from Chicago to Los Angeles. This film that set off a comedy franchise also stars Beverly D'Angelo, Randy Quaid, Anthony Michael Hall, Dana Barron, John Candy, and Christie Brinkley, among others.

Fletch (1985)

This one is probably my favorite Chevy Chase film. This one was directed by Michael Ritchie and based on a novel written Gregory McDonald. Actually, it was based on several of his novels, as Fletch was a character that was the subject of many of his novels. Anyway, it is about a newspaper reporter that gets caught up in a drug trade on the beach in Los Angeles. It also stars Joe Don Baker, Geena Davis, and George Wendt (Norm). It spawned a sequel and there have been talks of a prequel for years.

Spies Like Us (1985)

A very close second favorite, this John Landis directed film also stars Dan Akroyd. The duo play a pair of inept intelligence agents that end up in the Soviet Union trying to avert a nuclear war. Other actors in the film include Donna Dixon, Frank Oz, Terry Gilliam, and Bob Hope.

It is also Matt Damon's 42nd birthday so here is a list of some of my favorite films that he has been in.  Happy Birthday Matt.

Good Will Hunting (1997)
Dogma (1999)
Ocean's Eleven (2001)
The Bourne Identity (2002)
The Departed (2006)
Invictus (2009)
