Yet another bill was introduced in the Oklahoma State Legislature this session that would make an easier path to allow third parties on the ballot.
Speaker T.W. Shannon announced that it would be not heard on the floor this session. His reasons? There were bills with higher priority to be heard.
WHAT WERE SOME OF THOSE BILLS WITH HIGHER PRIORITY?
A bill that creates a $14 one day fishing license.
A bill that declares part of Highway 81 as Historical Chisholm Trail Bike Route.
A bill that allows County Commissioners to provide incentives awards to employees for participating in voluntary wellness programs.
I can't tell you how happy I am that we have a new Speaker that goes against the status quo and makes sure that important bills like fishing licenses take precedence over giving Oklahomans REAL voting choices. God forbid we have elections where people have to think about who they are voting for. It is so much more important to ensure that a person has the ability to go fishing for a day.
HOW ABOUT A ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR SPEAKER SHANNON!
