Drug Prohibition and Drug Decriminalization


Here is an article I read today about drug control on Libertarian Christians website:

Here are some highlights from the article:

Drug prohibition = the criminalization of the production, distribution and possession of narcotics.

Drug freedom = the complete absence of federal and state laws and regulations concerning narcotics.

Drug decriminalization = the elimination of criminal penalties for possession. It amounts to small civil fines.

Drug legalization = the elimination of criminal and civil penalties for possession.

And here is a good quote from it:
"...the Constitution nowhere grants to the federal government the authority to have anything to do with marijuana or any other drug. No regulations, no restrictions, no drug schedules, no controlled substances, and certainly no prohibition."
