Only 49.6% of OK voters voted in 2012. OK ranked 49th in the nation for voter attendance beating West Virginia and Hawaii.
How sad is that?
Oklahoma is one of the most conservative, if not THE MOST conservative, state in the nation. But what does all of that matter if nobody bothers to show up to vote, especially on a GENERAL ELECTION?!?
I guess most of the people at home would rather stay at home watching re-runs of Jersey Shore than actually go out there and make a difference.
What can the politically active folks in Oklahoma do to change this?
Could this have something to do with Oklahoma's antiquated election laws? No third parties on the ballot. No option for write in voting.
This is not a coincidence.
