Here are his Top 4 films, listed in chronological order by year of release.

The Godfather Part 2 (1974)

Francis Ford Coppola directed this American crime film. It was, of course, the sequel to the 1972 Godfather film that Coppola also directed. Pacino starred as the head of the Corleone crime family, Michael Corleone. Also starring in this film were Robert Duvall, Diane Keaton, Robert De Niro, and Talia Shire, among many others. Pacino was nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for this film but lost to Art Carney for his role in Harry and Tonto.

Heat (1996)

Michael Mann directed this American crime film that was based on a 1989 TV-movie called L.A. Takedown. Pacino stars as Lt. Vincent Hanna. Other actors in this film included Robert De Niro, Val Kilmer, Jon Voight, Tom Sizemore, Ashley Judd, Wed Studi, Ted Levine, Natalie Portman, Hank Azaria, Henry Rollins, Tone Loc and Jeremy Piven.

Donnie Brasco (1997)

This biopic of an undercover FBI agent was directed by Mike Newell. Pacino stars as Lefty Ruggiero alongside Johnny Depp (who played the title role) and Michael Madsen.

Any Given Sunday (1999)

This sports drama was directed by Oliver Stone. Pacino plays Tony D'Amato, the head coach of the fictional football team that the film is about. It also starred Cameron Diaz, Dennis Quiad, James Woods, Jamie Foxx, LL Cool J, Aaron Eckhart, and Matthew Modine.
